About me

The name “NikoLogs” is made up of part of its creator’s first name – Nicolas – and “Logs”, which means woodtrunks. The company was officially created on May 1, 2021, but has been in existence as a sideline since 2011, when Nicolas took a Logbuilding course with Thierry Hourdart in the Corrèze region of France. Nicolas got the log-building virus by watching another Nicolas build a logcabin in Les Près-d’Orvin in 2009. Although he had learned the profession of lumberjack and obtained his CFC in 2002, Nicolas continued to take courses to obtain his technical vocational diploma, with the idea of studying to become a forestry engineer. During the same year, however, he took the entrance exams for the Geneva paramedic school and was admitted, which marked a definite turning point in his professional life. After more than 17 years working for the ambulance service in the Biel region, Nicolas realized his dream in 2021, when he officially set up his own company, giving himself complete independence. Since then, he has traveled extensively in Scandinavia and taken courses in traditional logbuilding around europa. He has already completed many projects and is happy to help you with yours.
